Getting Fitted

Where do I go to get fitted?

The physiotherapist Sleep Assessment and Bed Fittings are available at our growing network of participating physiotherapy clinics, Australia wide.

These clinics are independent clinics that have undertaken special training with our clinical team in order to be able to perform sleep assessments and bed fittings.

Reach out to SD Labs Client Support, who will assist in making a booking with your nearest physiotherapist.

What happens in a fitting?

The bed fitting appointment will be carried out by a physiotherapist, who is trained in fitting and servicing the Z10-BodyFit Sleep System.

The aim of the fitting is to get you sleeping on a comfortable and solid bed, that’s free of sag and fitted to support your bodies individualised position, based on your unique needs. This personalised configuration will be documented in a 'prescription' for the SD Labs Z10-BodyFit Sleep System.

If you have any medical or physiotherapy issues requiring assessment prior to the fitting, you may need a physiotherapisttherapy assessment prior to the fitting appointment. Your physiotherapist will notify you prior to fitting if this is required and let you know the relevant cost of such an assessment.

How long is a fitting appointment?

The fitting appointment will last approximately 60 minutes.

During the first half of the appointment your physiotherapist will conduct an initial assessment to understand your muscoloskeletal and sleep history, to identify your personal needs.

The remainder of the appointment will be an interactive bed assessment (30 minutes) during which your sleeping posture is explored, and you are fitted on a specialised fitting bed. Your physiotherapist will develop an individualised prescription, utilising their clinical skills, and video guided feedback, to ensure an optimal personalised sleep posture fitting, unique to you.

What do I wear to a fitting appointment?

We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing that you are able to lie down in your regular sleep position in.

Ideally you would have a top layer that you could remove during the appointment if required, should the physiotherapist need this to better assess your posture.

If I have a partner, do they have to be fitted for us to get a Z10-BodyFit Sleep System?

No. It is your partner’s choice if they want their side of the bed to be customised to their body’s needs. If they choose not to be fitted, they can choose a uniform firmness for their side. If your partner does want their side to be customised, they too will need to make a fitting appointment with an accredited physiotherapist.

Do I have to get the Z10-BodyFit Sleep System after the appointment?

You are under no obligation to purchase the Z10-BodyFit Sleep System after you have completed your appointment.

The “prescription” your physiotherapist provides at the conclusion of the session will be sent on to SD Labs Patient Support. The prescrition is only relevant for the Z10-BodyFit Sleep System.

If you have any further questions our SD Labs Patient Support Team will walk you through each section of the 4-step process.

What information does the physiotherapist send to SD Labs about my appointment?

When your fitting appointment is complete, your physiotherapist will only provide your prescription and contact details to SD Labs with your consent. If you do not want your prescription forwarded on, please let your physiotherapist know.

What is my “prescription”?

Your “prescription” is your physiotherapist’s requested specifications for the Z10-BodyFit Sleep System that is customised to your needs after a fitting appointment.

What is the Healthy Sleep Triage?

This is a quick questionnaire you fill out to see if you need a sleep test. We have supplied your physio with level 3 sleep kits which involves and apple watch, finger attachment and a sensor that sticks to your forehead. This gives us a reading to check for any signs of OSA Obstructive Sleep Apnea, just so we can tick that off as no issue for you. If we do find an issue, we will get a sleep optimise test organised for you.

What is a sleep test?

Once youve filled out the Healthy Sleep Triage your physio will let you know if a sleep test is needed. This is a level 4 take home sleep test kit so Obstructive Sleep Apnea and other issues can be ruled out as one of the reasons for the patients poor sleep.

My regular physiotherapist doesn’t perform these fittings, but I would like them to. How do I show them about this?

Please ask your physiotherapist clinic to contact our clinic support team at joe.crooks@sdlaboratories.com
