Chronic Pain Australia
— National Pain Week

SD Labs with Chronic Pain Australia at Parliament HouseSD Labs with Chronic Pain Australia at Parliament House in Canberra, Thursday 24th July 2025.

Our team was in Canberra yesterday for an important event hosted by Chronic Pain Australia (CPA) at Parliament House.

CPA presented their white paper calling for chronic pain to be recognised as a condition in its own right. Not just a symptom.

This change would align Australia with WHO guidelines and improve access to care for the approximately 3.6 million Australians living with chronic pain.

SD Labs was represented by Professor Scott Ayton, Dr Prateek Bandopadhayay, Joe Crooks (Physiotherapist and Head of Growth), Peter Allen (Physiotherapist) and AFL Legend and Person with Chronic Pain, Wayne Johnston.

It was great to meet so many Physiotherapists, other health professionals, and advocates, working at the frontline in the fight against chronic pain. We were touched also, hearing the courageous stories of the lived experience of people sharing their stories of living with chronic pain.
